Convento da Esperança
Remains of this old convent, which belonged to the Santa Clara order and was founded in the middle of the 16th century, can be found in the Rua da Sé near the cathedral. Today, it accommodates a branch of the Caixa Geral de Depositos. During restoration works following the 1980 earthquake, parts of the old convent church, such as stone arches and windows, were dug up and integrated in the bank building.
