Paços do Conselho (Town Hall)
This splendid 19th-century construction near the Igreja do Colégio was built on the spot of the previous two town halls, the latest of which dated from the 17th century. Its luxuriously decorated interior features beautiful antique furniture, mainly of jacaranda-wood, valuable paintings, sculptures and other objects of historic value as well as the first blue-and-white flag of the constitutional monarchy, personally embroidered by Queen Maria II to thank the people of Terceira for their support during the civil war.
