Ponta do Mistério & Santa Cruz

Halfway between Agualva and the small village of Quatro Ribeiras, one of the first settlements of the island, you will pass at the Ponta do Mistério, one of Terceira’s most attractive coastal areas, blessed with some idyllic coves and creaks. A mysterious green-glazed lunar landscape, with the blue ocean in the backdrop, creates a fascinating sight… not to be missed!

Santa Cruz, a tiny hamlet on a minor road leading off the coast before reaching Biscoitos, is the location of the Forno de Tehla da Boa Vista, an old kiln, probably dating back to the Spanish occupation, between the 16th and 17th centuries. It features interesting stone mouldings, borders and chimneys and whitewashed stonework.
