Livramento, Fajã de Baixo &
Fajã de Cima

Before our trip round the island ends in Ponta Delgada, we pass through the small village of Livramento, which boasts a few interesting sacral and civil structures from the 17th and 18th centuries, we reach the suburban villages of Fajã de Baixo and Fajã de Cima. Fajã de Baixo is the preferred summer residence location for the island’s rich families, which is witnessed by many splendid manor and country houses and several votive chapels from the 17th, 18th, and 19th century. Once you are here, you should not miss out on a visit of the famous pineapple plantation Arruda Açores, very interesting and you will be able to taste a pineapple liqueur, an island speciality! Apart from an old windmill that has been restored and opened to public, there is not much more to add about the sister village of Fajã de Cima.
