Manadas
Another picturesque fishing village along the south coast is Manadas. This tranquil little village has some pretty manor houses and hosts a true treasure, the small 18th-century Igreja de Santa Barbara, idyllically located above the harbour. Classified monument of national interest, this pretty white church is probably one of the most beautiful examples of religious Baroque architecture of the whole archipelago. In its richly adorned interior features a magnificent elaborately carved cedar wood ceiling.
